Today’s episode is all about Madelyn Fischer! I connected with Madelyn via Threads, my favorite social media behind this one (if you count Substack as a social media app).
Back in November, Madelyn posted that she was looking to interview poets for a project and I was down. We got to talking and it turned out she was starting a poetry podcast and y’all know I love a collab so it was only right I get her on here. We recorded this episode in January and I’m excited that it’s finally live!
Poetry High Podcast is where she uncovers all that is wonderful about poetry, complete with history and interview segments, and even the occasional game night! You can check her podcast out on Spotify and YouTube!

A Letter to My Lonely Self
I know all you want to hear, and truly know, is that you’re important to someone. I’m sorry that you might not hear it from someone anytime soon. However I want you to realize that I need you. You’re important to me. Without you I would cease to exist, with all of my efforts, and all of my words. Without you I wouldn’t know what the simple pleasure is to make other people happy. Without you I wouldn't know joy without reason, but simply life. Without you I wouldn’t know what it means to truly be brave and strong. Without you I wouldn’t see poetry in human form. A true transformation of pain and beauty.
